Marbling Workshop: The Whitworth

A brief reflection from the previous week-

Fellow MMU Textiles student Charlotte Howson's marbling workshop at the Whitworth. Supported by 'The Whitworth Young Contemporaries Student Society'.

With Charlotte's enthusiastic instruction, we learnt how to create abstract forms on the surface of water using oil paint and white spirit. A skill I will definitely making interesting use out of in the future, perhaps even for initial development within briefs.

Students attended from all around Manchester and beyond socializing, mingling and having a great deal of fun creating beautiful marble effects on a variation of medias sharing the exciting space that the Whitworth provides.

I will definitely be keeping an eye out for future events the society will be hosting, as I believe this session has really inspired me to start considering ideas for the future for how to share my interests and skills with others, whilst getting to know new faces.
